About

Hi, I'm Kathryn! Chapstitch is my creative outlet for documenting my fiber art. I've been knitting and crocheting since I was a young child, crafting chain mail from bottle tops and custom overalls for my Troll dolls.

Now, I'm inspired by playing with color and using knitting to recreate the things around me. I love how hand-knitting an item can transform it from something everyday into something treasured. I cherish the handmade nature of my work and do not use generative AI in any step of its creation.

The name chapstitch is a portmanteau of "chapstick" and "stitch". It's a reference both to knitting and to the label "chapstick lesbian".

Comissions

I accept very select commissions, based on the proposal and my availability. If you're interested, please complete this form, and I'll reach out if it's accepted.

Fiber arts are slow, which is part of their beauty...but also part of their cost. I recognize that price makes them inaccessible to many people. I create some commissions for trade or for donations to fundraisers. Commissions will be cheaper if they reference an existing pattern or can be machine-knit.
